Technical Sales Engineer

 

Description:

Responsibilities:

· Memorizing technical product specifications and keeping up-to-date with company products as well as industry trends.

· Attending conferences, lectures, seminars, and workshops to improve your skills and knowledge.

· Conducting market research and obtaining feedback from clients to improve existing products.

· Writing reports, data sheets and liaising with the production team regarding issues, foreseeable problems, and effective solutions.

· Simplifying technical terms during product demonstrations and post-sales customer support.

· Maintaining strong professional relationships with existing clients and meeting with new clients to expand sales territories.

· Updating orders and sales and negotiating the best contract terms.

· Using technical skills to demonstrate to potential customers the usefulness of the product or service and how it may suit the customer better than competing products.

· Supporting other members of the sales team by training them in the uses of products/services

Required Qualifications

· Strong technical skills

· Telecom experience – preferred

· Experience using Microsoft Office Tools

· 2 to 3 years Experience preferred

· Research and analytical skills & Organizational skills

· Communication skills, including the ability to explain clearly, listen to the feedback of clients – and relay this to colleagues

· Foundational knowledge of the operation of fiber optic solutions equipment.

· System level trouble shooting on fiber optic telecommunications transport and switching equipment.

· Experience with network management systems would be beneficial
