Job Description:

As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the integration of various systems and applications within the organization internally or externally. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess existing systems, and design integration solutions that enable seamless communication and data exchange across different platforms. Your role will involve collaborating with development teams, configuring middleware, and implementing APIs to ensure the smooth flow of information between systems while adhering to security and performance standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze integration requirements.

2. Design end-to-end integration solutions that facilitate communication between different systems and applications.

3. Develop integration architecture blueprints, including data mappings, message formats, and communication protocols.

4. Configure and customize middleware platforms, such as enterprise service buses (ESBs) or integration platforms as a service (iPaaS).

5. Implement and manage application programming interfaces (APIs) for system-to-system communication.

6. Develop and maintain integration interfaces, including data transformation, routing, and error handling.

7. Collaborate with development teams to implement integration solutions and troubleshoot integration issues.

8. Ensure that integration solutions comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

9. Monitor and optimize integration performance, scalability, and reliability.

10. Document integration designs, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

2. Proven experience (5 years) in system integration, middleware development, or a related role.

3. Strong understanding of integration patterns, protocols, and technologies, such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and messaging queues.

4. Experience with integration middleware platforms, such as MuleSoft, IBM Integration Bus, Apache Camel, or similar tools.

5. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in integration development.

6. Familiarity with API management platforms and tools for designing, publishing, and securing APIs.

7. Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and best practices.

8. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex integration issues and propose effective solutions.

9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

10. Certifications such as MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, IBM Certified Solution Developer - Integration Bus, or equivalent are a plus.
