Description:

Responsibilities:

• Sharing ownership of operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability with the End User Storage Manager.

• Provisioning storage based on standardized procedures detailed in the Operational Run Book and meeting End User agreed upon standards.

• Configuration and layout of storage infrastructure.

• Performing necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with DT Services and End User change management policies.

• Providing analysis of the environment and best practice knowledge transfer.

• Participating in Root Cause Analysis reviews as applicable.

• Assisting with incident and problem management activities.

• Monitoring backup activity for the in-scope environment.

• Performing routine backup policy changes.

• Participating in the planning, approval, and implementation of approved change management requests.

• Participating in backup capacity measurement and planning.

• Assisting with detailed technical planning for future initiatives.

• Updating client operational procedures and documents.

• Ensuring all backups are properly run and completed on time. Restores will be processed within mutually agreed to timeframes.

• Documenting operational best practice processes and procedures related to the backup environment.

Qualifications:

• Certified in Veeam VMCE and DellEMC storage technologies.

• Minimum of 4 years experience in storage administration and data protection.

• Develop and exhibit technical subject matter expertise on the assigned backup and storage systems along with associated processes and procedures.

• Have experience with deduplication storage systems, with Data Domain being preferred and SAN fabric technologies.

• Have expertise in High availability, DR fail over and failback configurations.

• Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup environments and DR replication (Veeam).

• Create and provide reports for backup and storage environments, related activities, and tasks.

• Create and update documentations for backup environments.

• Perform change management, problem management and incident correlation on re-occurring issues.
