Sr. System Application Engineer

Description:

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain Nokia/Huawei DWDM NMS systems, including failover/failback configuration, node reachability, and regular backups.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex NMS application and network issues.
Monitor and optimize NMS performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in collaboration with vendors.
Develop and implement fault management procedures, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Oversee monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Ivanti) and ensure system reliability.
Conduct health checks for DWDM NMS applications and databases, ensuring security and performance.
Manage NMS licenses, including renewals, upgrades, and compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver tailored network solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and support team development.

Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecom, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience: 10+ years in NMS/DWDM systems, including hands-on experience with Nokia/Huawei NMS, failover/failback, and fault management.
Certifications: Nokia/Huawei Optical Network Certification or equivalent; professional certification in Application/System Administration.

Technical Skills:
Expertise in DWDM systems, optical networking, and network protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS).
Proficiency in Nokia/Huawei NMS tools, SolarWinds, Ivanti, and Patch Management systems.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and optimization skills.
