Essential Job Duties
- Manages the team that has the responsibility for construction oversight and compliance of contractors, ensuring works are carried out as per the drawings, specifications and standards, as per schedule and ensures compliance to ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national regulatory safety codes.
- Oversee performance of the general contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems.
- Lead and coordinate with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders involved in substructure and superstructure works.
- Leads input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements including contractor submittals.
- Ensures required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the specific work at site.
- Responsible for a multi-functional team who will be reviewing and approving the contractor's submittals, schedule acceptance, technical queries, Field change documents and other submittal documents including Drawings and As-Builts.
- Ensure all materials and equipment on the site fully comply with international standard and technical specification requirements.
- Ensure the closure of project is systematic and complete in all respects.
- Maintains an effective relationship with client, stakeholders and other functional departments and coordinates all jobsite contractual activities.
- Coordinates and monitors interfaces with other contractors, lead the review meetings, and field activities interfaces as required.
Qualifications, Experience, Job Knowledge, And Skill Set Requirements
- Minimum 25 years of experience in the construction industry
- A recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or Construction
- Minimum 15 Years of experience in progressively senior positions on large construction programs
- Thorough knowledge of contract formation and execution management, for example with FIDIC contract conditions
- Thorough knowledge of major project management requirements and safety procedures and practices associated with the construction works.
- Experience in performance management and improvement of distressed projects or contracts
- Experience in mobilizing and managing multiple locations at any one time.
- Preferred experience in the following:
- Major construction works of facilities for recreational, hospitality or sporting purposes – e.g., High end residential, hotels complexes, Stadium, or multi-purpose sports facilities.
- High grade architecturally significant projects for public occupancy (such as airports, transport hubs, hotel complexes or large residential or office complexes).
- Multidisciplinary projects including major concrete and structural steel installations as well as complex Building Management Systems
- Multi campus building complexes, such as apartment complexes, villa compounds.
- Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC, either on Construction Management role or Direct Construction experience on construction projects
- Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the Client, Contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
- Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor’s staff and field engineers.
