Undertaking Tunnel Ventilation design reviews, including but not limited to equipment specifications, performance requirements, basis of design reports, and space-proofing and layout assessments,
Undertaking Tunnel Ventilation calculations reviews, including but not limited to 1-D desktop numerical studies, 3-D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses, pressure drop calculations, noise assessments,
Contributing to design optimization for cost-saving exercises while maintaining required level of operation and safety, ensuring Tunnel Ventilation System constructability and maintainability,
Management of workloads for all Tunnel Ventilation Systems Relevant Engineering activities so that they are affordable, and they do meet Programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality.
Assist the System Assurance and Integration Manager with the review and acceptance of the design and delivery of Contractor’s Safety Cases for the elements, products and systems being delivered.
Reviewing the design consultant’s hazard and risk logs and the design and delivery Contractor’s HAZIDs, HAZOPs, IDCs/IDRs, QRAs, etc.
Support the identification of risk and measures including system safety analysis associated with the above HAZIDs, HAZOPs, IDCs/IDRs, QRAs and other safety risk assessments and ALARP justification.
Support the preparation and implementation of system safety assurance documentation and requirements management processes.
Support the flow down of Tunnel Ventilation System’s requirements along with the review of verification and validating information and data received from other entities.
Providing inputs into the common NEOM Projects risk register and participating in its regular review during the life of the project.
Reviewing ventilation Operation Mode Table and support System’s integration with control and monitoring systems,
Undertaking reviews of Contractor inspection and testing & commissioning plans relating to Tunnel Ventilation Systems.
Support NEOM Projects in the liaison with Shadow Operator, ISA and Rail operators appointed.
Coordinate the response to comments raised on deliverables by the likes of subject matter experts, the design review team, the Independent Checking Engineer, and Independent Safety Assessors.
Ensure that robust safety management process is undertaken within the Consultant and subsequent design and delivery contractors and identify any risks in the design of the operational railway.
Ensure the buildability of the proposed TVS design, including but not limited to review of equipment delivery / removal route sweep path analyses as well as associated installation and equipment delivery method statements,
Ensure suitability of materials, including but not limited to review of Material Specifications for Mechanical, Electrical and Control systems associated within Tunnel Ventilation System design.
Coordinate and visit the jobsite as required, to resolve problems, interpret drawings and documents and provide technical support during the construction phase.
Coordinate with Contracts Department and Construction teams for supporting the pre-construction procurement process and the checking and assembly of the design documentation for issue as design-build or design-bid-build tender packages as required.
Review changes or deviations in TVS design scope, material quantities, budget, or schedule, and assist particularly with defining the change.
Take an active role in supporting TVS Delivery Manager in design reviews, interdisciplinary design reviews and provide comments.
Take an active role in the client’s Stage Review and Approval Procedure.
