Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of layout techniques, procedures, and criteria for the master plan of the project buildings, facilities and structures including planning and development activities of the region.
Provide judicious and tactical planning, review and make recommendations on development, and evaluate infrastructure requirements.
Prepare conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, value engineering studies or alternate technical concepts in accordance with Engineering Procedures and contribute to the design and layouts for project facilities.
Will be answerable for the management and coordination of Master Planning & Design tasks and Landscape Architecture associated with development of the region.
Prepare essential contractual documents such as Scope of Work, Request for Proposal (RFP) and Information Report.
Identify and implement sustainability requirement.
Assist design development with other departments which may include construction, estimating, project controls, procurement, and contracts management.
Assist and integrate design work between the architectural discipline, engineering disciplines and other design entities.
Interface with clients and stakeholders to make presentations, define project layout requirements, and obtain contractual and statutory approvals.
Prepare and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates and quantity take-offs.
Assist the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and job satisfaction.
Assist in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and provide input for their performance evaluation.
Skills & Qualifications
A recognized Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Urban or regional Planning and Landscape Architecture, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of at least 12 years.
Minimum 8 years’ experience as Planner with hands on experience in planning various infrastructural projects.
Previous experience working as Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture, as well as landscape architect with an interest in the environment, life sciences is a must.
Experience in planning and program management.
Knowledge of architectural layout design, production techniques, building materials, and construction methods for development of various work areas.
Perceives technical issues and cost related to selection of design features and unique architectural layout requirements.
Observant and experience of recognized software used in master planning.
Ability to assist and prepare self-study for issues that related to the planning for services distribution, environmental impact, traffic and transportation assessment.
Broad knowledge of the building industry, regulatory standards.
Skilled in oral and written communication and has graphic presentation skills.
Experienced with managing knowledge of sustainability and its integration into the design and the construction of various buildings.
Familiar with discipline-specific Autodesk Design suite (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) design workflows and impacts to discipline productivity, schedule, budget, and staffing plans.
Knowledgeable in the use and application of relevant business software, GIS programs, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and 3D sketch up.
“US Professional Architects Registration and/ or internationally recognized Professional Architects Registration from elsewhere, such as RIBA”.
Relevant experience in the KSA and MENA region and a sound observant of the cultural norms and requirements of the region and a LEED certified professional.
Experience in customer-facing roles, presenting to customers and working with authorities having jurisdiction.
Fluency in Arabic is preferred for the position (due to the degree of interaction required with Saudi Nationals).
