Job Role Responsibilities:
Import Pricing Management
- Develop and manage competitive pricing for import shipments across various trade lanes.
- Analyze market trends and competitor pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Vendor Negotiations
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with carriers, shipping lines, and agents to negotiate the best rates and service agreements.
- Optimize cost structures without compromising service quality.
Customer Quotations
- Provide timely and accurate quotations to customers based on their requirements.
- Ensure pricing aligns with the company’s profitability goals and market standards.
Collaboration with Teams
- Work closely with the sales, operations, and customer service teams to address customer needs and ensure seamless shipment execution.
- Coordinate with global and local agents to secure the best rates and routing options.
Proactive Problem Solving
- Address and resolve any pricing-related challenges, including disputes, rate changes, and service adjustments.
- Actively identify opportunities to streamline pricing processes and enhance efficiency.
Reporting and Analysis
1.Maintain records of pricing trends, vendor agreements, and quotation success rates.
2. Generate regular reports to support decision-making and strategy development.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, import processes, and trade regulations.
- Proficiency in freight management software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Soft Skills:
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to secure competitive rates and maintain profitable partnerships.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective interaction with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
