Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company is providing Executive Project Management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia . The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt , Israel , and Jordan . It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.”NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways.
Summary Of Responsilities
The Senior Construction Engineer - Electrical / C&I will be responsible for the works applicable to Electrical and Instrumentation discipline. Ensures assigned construction operations and contractor's performance are in compliance with ES&H, Quality, and project schedule.
Essential Job Duties
Performs surveillance of Contractor’s activities w.r.t Electrical and Instrumentation installation on the project, ensuring all electrical commodities and its bulks are installed as per the IFC drawings and specifications and standards Engages in review of contractor’s technical submittals, method statements associated with installation electrical equipment, cable pulling, cable terminations, Inspection & Test Plans, installation sequences, Drawings and As-Builts Performs inspection activities as per the approved ITPs, inspects electrical equipment and bulk materials, ensure electrical equipment and bulks are stored and maintained as per the project preservation procedures or manufacturer’s guidelines Ensures construction essaying is performed by contractor as per the specifications, ITPs, and codes Reviews NCRs, RFIs, FCRs, etc., and ensures that the dispositions to field change documents are correctly implemented in the field Participates in area handover processes including witness of final inspection and acceptance of E&I installations, Punchlist walk downs, identifies Punchlist items, and monitoring of Punchlist item status Carry out regular formal joint safety inspections with senior Contractor’s staff Attends and provide inputs to the project review meetings Review Meetings, reviews, and compiles daily reports for submission to Project Controls Coordinates and monitors interfaces with other contractors
Qualifications, Experience, Job Knowledge And Skill Set Requirements
A recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (or international equivalent) Minimum 15 years of experience in E&I in construction industry or 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Proven construction experience on large industrial projects in Electrical/Instrumentation installations Knowledge and experience of all electrical major commodities and equipment such as, MV/HV cable installation, transformers, switchgears, MCCs, raceway systems, cable termination, instrument installation Knowledge of various field essaying such as insulation essays, PI essays, Hi-Pot essays, relay test, instrument loop checks Should have thorough knowledge and solid experience of Electrical and Instrumentation standards, specifications, and codes as applicable including various Safety procedures and practices associated with electrical installation Capable of reading and understanding design drawings, vendor design packages, specifications, and applying industry standard best practices on construction projects Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the Client, Contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle Must have good oral and written communication skills in English Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC preferred Experience of working and living in camp locations
