Description:
The Senior BIM Mechanical Engineer will lead the development, coordination, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for mechanical systems in large-scale construction projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with project requirements, Saudi regulations, and international standards while optimizing mechanical system designs for efficiency and sustainability. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership in BIM implementation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and oversee 3D mechanical models, ensuring compliance with Saudi building codes and project specifications.
- Lead the development and implementation of BIM execution plans and workflows for mechanical systems.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines using BIM collaboration tools.
- Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts within BIM models to optimize constructability.
- Ensure adherence to Saudi labor laws, health & safety regulations, and municipal codes.
- Optimize mechanical system designs for energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Oversee project documentation, including shop drawings, schedules, and as-built models.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM modelers.
- Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years specializing in BIM applications.
- Strong proficiency in BIM software, including Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi building codes, mechanical standards, and local regulations.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure quality control in BIM deliverables.
- Membership or certification from a recognized professional body (e.g., Saudi Council of Engineers, ASHRAE, or Autodesk Certification) is preferred.
