Essential Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, implement, and maintain the project BIM Management Plan and Information Management (IM) strategy and plans in alignment with the customer’s BIM and GIS requirements.
- Conduct workshops with client, partners, and stakeholders to continuously monitor and enhance the information management strategy and plan.
- Contribute to the Project Execution Plan (PEP) for alignment with the project Innovation, digital and IM strategies and plans.
- Develop project Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) as part of contract flow-downs to the delivery teams.
- Implement BIM Management Plan including the Common Data Environment (CDE) and associated integrated work-processes, systems configurations to support application exchange requirements.
- Enhance tender documents with specific contract language to enable the adoption of targeted innovation within project delivery teams and support integration with digital workflows.
- Develop a scorecard for assessing the technical IM capability and capacity of each delivery team. Develop training plans for upskilling to meet project needs as required.
- Define and coordinate project dashboards to monitor & track implementation of BIM/GIS use-cases and workflows (e.g. design management and construction management).
- Support the review each delivery team’s BIM Execution Plan and Information Delivery Plans in accordance with the project EIR/AIR and the relevant Scope of Work.
- Ensures the project meets the information requirements, and industry wide standards (i.e. ISO19650).
- Document lessons learned and implement improved workflows to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with delivery team functions (e.g. Engineering, ES&H, Project Controls, and Construction) to develop IM and innovation use cases to support the project, including work-packaging/4D/5D/6D strategies.
- Coordinate with IS&T Project automation plan to confirm alignment with the Project BIM/GIS and IM strategy & plans, integrating best practices for information security & privacy requirements.
- Devise training plans for the usage of systems, tools, and the CDE, guaranteeing the data integrity of the Project Information Model (PIM), Asset Information Model (AIM) and engage with off-Project subject matter experts as needed.
- Conduct regular assessments to review the implementation of the project BIM plan and assess the maturity achieved on the Project, seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with functional PIIM team, Bechtel SMEs, Functional, and Innovation teams to leverage standards, integrate best practices, and develop and deploy proven and emerging technologies.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 15+ years of experience in delivering large complex AEC projects, including 10+ years of experience in BIM, GIS, and innovation implementation.
- Advanced knowledge of visualization and design tools such as Infraworks, Civil3D, Revit, Twin Motion, Unity, Reality Capture and Navisworks. Working knowledge of Autodesk and Bentley 3D/BIM suite of tools including features, functions, and limitations.
- Proficiency with collaboration/CDE platforms (i.e., BIM360/ACC) to support d DM/CM workflows.
- Demonstrate understanding of ISO 19650 Information Management Principles and Framework.
- Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), LEAN and other modern contractual delivery methods.
- Understands project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration and coordination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain digital transformation and digital solutions and technologies to all levels of the organization.
- Experience in facilitating workshops, work process mapping and implementing a structured approach to scope management and change management.
- Previous involvement in developing project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), templates, standards & classification systems, class libraries, and master data models for large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in defining and deploying project dashboards using GIS and PowerBI.
- Strong problem-solving and change management skills, particularly related to integrated project delivery environment.
- Knowledge of ERP and Asset Management Systems.
- Ability to manage priorities and assume additional evolving responsibilities, including providing direction and supervision to digital leads in engineering, construction, and other cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
