Worldwide Zoo Consultants (WZC) is thrilled to partner with an exciting new project in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. The project entails the management of a state-of-the-art VVIP private animal facility operation dedicated to the comprehensive care of a diverse range of animal species (both terrestrial and aquatic, domestic and exotic). The collection begins with ungulates, reptiles, insects, birds and fish with plans to expand.

Worldwide Zoo Consultants is seeking a passionate and professional Senior Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Animal Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in animal care operations and VVIP guest services. Animal welfare is at the core of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Animal Care and Management
• VVIP Guests relations
• Assist in the daily care and husbandry of a variety of animal species within the facility 24/7.
• Overseeing a team of animal care professionals and the resident group of animals.
• Coordination with the veterinary department

Facility Maintenance:

• Assist in maintaining clean and safe animal habitats, exhibits, and related facilities.
• Work closely with the maintenance and construction teams for habitat improvements and expansions.

Health and Well-being:

• Monitor and report on animal health, behavior, and environmental conditions.
• Assist in the implementation of enrichment activities to promote mental and physical stimulation for the animals.

Team Support:

• Work closely with the animal care team to provide support and assistance in various tasks.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Visitor Engagement:

• Engage with clients or visitors, providing information about the animals and their conservation needs.
• Answer questions and contribute to the educational experience of our guests.

Position Requirements:

• Previous experience 5 plus years working with animals, preferably in a farm, zoo, sanctuary, or similar environment.
• A genuine passion for animal care, education and wildlife conservation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
