Major Responsibilities
This position is a seconded position to the Royal Commission Crisis and Disaster Management Department. The role will be dependent on the need of the Royal Commission into the future.
- Manages large-scope, complex projects for on-time completion of deliverables based on department objectives and other standards, as well as ensuring compliance with management and board policies.
- Leads risk mitigation and response protocols according to the latest trends and best practices if faced with a crisis. Ensures achievement of operational and strategic priorities and initiatives through own contributions and that of the team.
- Applies expertise in a specialized field of security and crisis management to broadly stated problems.
- Identifies and defines problems; plans and conducts research aimed at their solution.
- Carries out special or unique studies requiring unconventional or novel approaches or research techniques.
- Conducts or leads special studies on new technologies, methods and materials.
- Serves as consultant to project and specialist groups, providing advice and counsel on assignments having special and unique features.
- Oversee the coordination and development of company-wide emergency plans.
- Assist as needed with Crisis Management Team (CMT) activities and annual CMT exercises.
- Engages in continuous learning and development that enhances individual performance and organization capabilities. Attends appropriate crisis management related training forums in furtherance of refining the organization’s response to real world crises. Further, proactively educates junior specialists and others throughout the organization.
- Coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the crisis management discipline.
Qualifications And Skills
Essential Technical:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or meeting years of experience criteria as mentioned below.
- Minimum of 12 years professional Risk Management, crisis management, risk management or similar.
- Extensive knowledge across the following resilience fields: Business Continuity, Incident and Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery, Technology Resilience and Supplier/Vendor Management.
- Experience in planning and program management.
Essential Behavioral
- Skill in oral and written communication. Fluency in English Language mandatory.
- Ability to provide strong, active technical leadership to adopt and enforce a consistent approach that nurtures a culture of quality, creativity, innovation and empowerment.
- Capable of dealing and interacting with challenging people and situations.
- Emotionally mature and intelligent, patient and tolerant with ability to train, coach and develop direct reports, peers and colleagues.

Additional Qualifications
Preferred Technical:
- Fluency in Arabic Language, preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge of: industry/ regulatory codes and standards.
- Knowledge of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia High Commission of Industrial Security (HCIS) Codes, Regulations and Standards.
- Experience with technology delivery system (TDS), risk assessment and management (RAM), system safety cultures, emergency evacuation and shelter plans, crisis communications procedures, business continuity management, police, fire, security and intelligence agencies.
- Experience working in KSA or Middle East, preferable.
