Project Controls Functional Manager

 

Description:

 Responsibilities

  • Leads staffing of project positions on project through internal/external hiring process
  • Supports onboarding activities
  • Provides support through career development conversations and mentoring
  • Supports annual performance and compensation reviews
  • Provides consultation, technical direction and administrative guidance to staff on project, guides and directs support groups
  • Reviews project plans, standard engineering details and specifications for constructability and conformance to regulatory requirements
  • Reviews the preparation of field manuals, construction standards and construction guidelines
  • Sponsors and supports the automation development programs related to work execution
  • Develops and implements training for construction team, including technical and supervisory
  • Maintains common guidelines and procedures for effective quality assurance / quality control programs Interaction
  • Regularly interacts and partners with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas and/or customers
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
  • Develop and Implement Project Controls Learning and Development Workshops and Classes

Scope of Leadership

  • Responsible for staffing decisions, performance appraisals and pay reviews
  • Makes decisions based on business objectives and allocated
  • Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Bechtel Vision, Values, and Covenants
  • Communicates effectively with the team and other project stakeholders
  • Establishes overall onboarding and training specifications for on project controls professionals

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of project controls processes and procedures
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with changeable requirements
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiar with the basic HR processes and procedures and able to liaise and work with the HR team
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Previous instructor experience preferred
  • A transferable KSA Iqama is an advantage
