Project Accountant

• Outdoor and Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Systems (IAQ & AAQMS)

• Noise Monitoring Systems

• Water Quality Monitoring Systems

• Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS)

• Predictive Emissions Monitoring Systems (PEMS)

• Emissions Testing Applications from Stationary Sources (such as process chimneys, stacks of generators, etc.) and mobile sources (such as trucks, forklifts, etc.)

• Environmental Consultancy Services including Circular Economy, Air Pollution Dispersion Modeling, Noise Modeling, Special Consultancy services, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Issuance and/or Renewal of Environmental Permits to Construct and/or to Operate, etc.

We are seeking a Company Accountant responsible for managing the financial aspects of the company, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role collaborates with project managers and other stakeholders to track project financial performance, provide detailed cost analysis, and ensure alignment with company financial policies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and present findings to management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts, including bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts to support strategic financial planning.
  • Handle tax filings and ensure compliance with local and national tax regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Work closely with external auditors during financial audits and prepare necessary documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the accounting aspects of multiple projects, ensuring accurate cost allocation, expense tracking, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Regularly track and update project budgets, providing variance analysis between budgeted and actual performance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in project accounting, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of project-based accounting, cost control, and financial reporting.

 

  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP Business One) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with potential occasional visits to taxation authority, Banks, and project sites.
  • Interaction with project teams, finance departments, and senior management.
  • Proficiency in English language (reading, writing and conversation).
