Description:
We are hiring a Planning Engineer for a reputed company in Qatar, specializing in Industrial Insulation, Scaffolding, Blasting and Painting, Fireproofing, Refractory, and Rope Access Services.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in planning and executing complex projects in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules for specialized services, including industrial insulation, scaffolding, blasting and painting, fireproofing, refractory, and rope access.
- Use tools like Primavera P6 and MS Project to create, monitor, and update project timelines, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
Resource Allocation and Management
- Plan and allocate required manpower, equipment, and materials for all project phases.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of resources.
Monitoring and Progress Reporting
- Track and analyze progress against planned schedules and milestones.
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including delay analysis and recovery plans.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Identify potential risks and delays in executing specialized services.
- Propose corrective measures and update plans to minimize impacts on timelines and budgets.
Compliance and Coordination
- Ensure project activities comply with safety, quality, and client specifications, especially for high-risk services like rope access and fireproofing.
- Facilitate seamless communication between clients, engineering teams, and execution teams to ensure timely achievement of project objectives.
Qualification Requirements
Educational Background
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or related fields).
- Preferred: Master’s degree or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
Technical Skills and Experience
- Primavera P6: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in project scheduling, resource leveling, and critical path analysis.
- Microsoft Office 365: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, data analysis), PowerPoint (presentations), and Teams/SharePoint (collaboration).
- ERP/SAP: At least 2-3 years of experience in SAP Project System (PS) or Plant Maintenance (PM) for planning, execution tracking, and reporting.
- Other Tools: Familiarity with MS Project, Power BI, or Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
Certifications
- Primavera P6 Certification: Basic and Advanced levels.
- Microsoft Office 365 Certification: MOS Expert or equivalent.
- SAP/ERP Certification: Relevant certifications in SAP PS, PM, or equivalent ERP systems.
- Specialized Training (Preferred): Certifications related to NACE Coating Inspector, Rope Access (IRATA Level 1/2/3), or fireproofing standards.
Industry-Specific Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years in planning roles within industrial projects, with at least 3 years in specialized services such as scaffolding, insulation, or fireproofing.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
- Adaptability and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
