Millwright Mechanical Technician

Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, assemble, and align mechanical equipment and machinery used in toothpaste and bar soap production, including, fillers, mixers, cartoners/wrapping and packaging machines.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including cams, gears, bearings, shafts, couplings, motors, pumps, power transmission components, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to troubleshoot, repair and maintain them.
• Conduct regular maintenance activities, such as lubrication, inspections, and adjustments, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery through planned and preventive maintenance.
• Welding and Machining Fabrication skills to carry out modifications, fabricate components, or perform repairs for various machinery parts through cutting, drilling, grinding (lathe) and welding.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to address complex mechanical challenges and optimize equipment functionality.
• Monitor equipment performance and conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and avoid production disruptions.
• Participate in equipment upgrades and modifications to improve efficiency, safety, and quality in accordance with established procedures.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance to facilitate tracking and reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technician Mechanical/Millwright diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in millwright or mechanical trade is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Millwright Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing/production or industrial setting.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex mechanical problems effectively.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
• Effective communication and team collaboration mindset.
• Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
