Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Gas System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of medical gas systems in healthcare facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of safety standards, and regulations, and the ability to work closely with other engineering teams and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Installation:
- Develop detailed designs for medical gas systems, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations (e.g., NFPA 99, HTM-0201, HTM-2022).
- Oversee the installation of medical gas systems, including piping, outlets, and alarm systems.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of medical gas systems into healthcare facilities.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all medical gas systems meet or exceed applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of medical gas systems to identify and mitigate any potential risks.
- Provide training to healthcare staff on the safe use of medical gas systems.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Prepare and present project proposals, cost estimates, and progress reports to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source necessary materials and equipment for projects.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to healthcare facilities regarding medical gas system operations.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans related to medical gas system failures or malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Medical Gas System Design and Installation is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical gas system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Experience working in healthcare environments is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HTM-0201, HTM-2022, NFPA 99, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
