Job Title: Legal Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research to stay informed about current laws, regulations, and precedents relevant to the organization's operations.
- Legal Counsel: Provide legal advice and guidance to management and other departments on a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Document Review: Review and draft legal documents, contracts, agreements, and policies to ensure accuracy, compliance, and legal soundness.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in laws and regulations to ensure the organization's activities comply with all applicable legal requirements.
- Litigation Support: Collaborate with external legal counsel if the organization is involved in legal disputes or litigation, and assist in the management of legal proceedings.
- Contract Management: Manage and maintain contracts and agreements, including negotiation, renewal, and termination processes.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
- Training and Education: Provide legal training and education to employees and management to enhance legal awareness and compliance.
- Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence in legal matters related to mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate transactions.
- Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive legal information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field (Juris Doctor or equivalent for practicing attorneys).
- State licensure as an attorney (if applicable).
- Proven experience in a legal role, preferably in a corporate or business environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.
- Ethical and responsible conduct in all legal activities.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
