Legal Advisor

Description:

Value International Group is seeking an experienced Legal Contracts Advisor with a strong
background in commercial disputes, particularly in engineering projects. The ideal candidate will
provide legal counsel on a variety of contractual matters and help resolve legal disputes, including
those related to arbitration and engineering contracts. This role requires expertise in the intricacies
of contractual obligations, dispute resolution, and the legal aspects of engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Advisory:
o Provide legal advice and counsel on engineering contracts and related legal matters.
o Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to engineering projects.
2. Commercial Disputes:
o Manage and resolve commercial disputes arising from engineering projects.
o Assist in the preparation and resolution of claims related to contract breaches,
delays, and variations.
3. Arbitration and Dispute Resolution:
o Provide expert legal support for arbitration proceedings, particularly in the context
of construction and engineering disputes.
o Advise on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and assist in resolving conflicts
efficiently.
4. Contractual Compliance:
o Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry
standards.
o Offer legal guidance on ensuring the protection of company interests through clear
and effective contract terms.
5. Risk Management:
o Identify legal risks and propose mitigation strategies for engineering projects.
o Provide ongoing risk assessment and strategic legal advice to project management teams.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
o Prepare legal reports, including detailed contract analysis, dispute summaries, and
arbitration updates.
o Maintain comprehensive records of legal correspondence and decisions
Qualifications:
• Law degree with a specialization in commercial law or construction law.
• At least 5 years of experience in legal advisory roles, focusing on commercial and engineering contract disputes.
In-depth knowledge of engineering contracts (including FIDIC), arbitration, and dispute
resolution.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating construction contracts and handling commercial
disputes.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic, with excellent written and verbal communication
abilities.
