Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. As we consider the future of aviation globally and in the GCC, we are very enthusiastic about the future of aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We are currently considering candidates with aviation, other transportation or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh should it be awarded to Bechtel. This posting serves as an expression of interest only.

Job Summary

Integrates environmental issues and requirements (as per client direction and any environmental impact assessments) into project level documents including proposing language for tenders, contracts and submittals. The role supports the integration of environmental and sustainability considerations into design specifications and criteria, organizing workshops and reviewing submittals, as well as construction plans for the Project. The role has technical responsibility to review project contributions to client sustainability goals and certifications, including establishing clarity on credit achievement requirements. In performing this role, the individual should be fully familiar with the contract terms, scope, and requirements. The candidate will need to work as part of the larger package management team to fulfil our obligations and contribute to the success of the Project.

Major Responsibilities
 

• Support and advocates for the implementation of the Bechtel scope of Project services-related sustainability and environmental management program, that are compliant with ISO 14001.
• Work with Manager to help interpret complex requirements, identifying any conflicting requirements, and evaluating and applying appropriate scientific/environmental and sustainability principles in recommendations for resolution
• Supports the project’s environmental and sustainability program to deliver on the client’s environmental obligations and sustainability goals.
• Organizes workshops and meetings with relevant stakeholders as required for solid understanding of requirements, resolution of issues in deliverables, further guidance or decisions as appropriate and keeps good records of discussions and decisions.
• Formulate plans and methods to maintain compliance with environmental sustainability requirements and identifies and raises any environmental risks to compliance with regulatory or certification requirements
• Oversees the work of designers as carried out with respect to environmental and sustainability requirements by c oordinating with design consultants and construction contractors to resolve issues associated with application of LEED and other relevant ratings.
• Tracks progress and provides updates on contractor performance in meeting environmental and sustainability requirements and goals.
• Identify any conflicting design requirements, or submittals and raise such issues for resolution, working with colleagues to develop recovery plans.
• Review embodied carbon calculations, lifecycle analyses, daylight and energy assessments at a high level
• Coordinates with, and provides technical support to, project-assigned functional leads (e.g., engineering, subcontracts, procurement, project controls) regarding project-specific environmental and sustainability requirements.
• Considers and recommends ways to incentivize contractors to exhibit high environmental and sustainability performance
   

Education And Experience Requirements

Level 26
 

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
