Description:
Our client, a leading company in the FMCG industry, is seeking an experienced Last Mile Delivery Manager to join their dynamic team in Riyadh, KSA. The job holder will be reporting directly to the Distribution & Logistics Manager and will play a pivotal role in managing 8 distribution centers for the frozen food category, that is 30% of the overall KSA DC for client.
The candidate will be managing multiple stakeholders and overseeing the final stage of the product distribution process, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods to the customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize last mile delivery operations, including route planning, vehicle scheduling, and delivery network expansion.
- Plan and organize the required fleet expansion plans based on demand forecasting and business growth projections.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely acquisition of vans, trucks, and other vehicles needed for last mile delivery operations.
- Implement and leverage technology solutions, such as route optimization software, GPS tracking systems, and mobile applications, to enhance efficiency and visibility within the last mile delivery process.
- Assess potential risks in last mile delivery operations and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted delivery processes Lead and manage a team of last mile delivery drivers, supervisors, and support staff, ensuring adherence to performance metrics, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Efficiently allocate and schedule vans and trucks for different regions based on demand, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or operational requirements.
- Establish and maintain a system for recording fleet performance indicators, such as delivery times, vehicle utilization, and fuel efficiency.
- Regularly analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and take appropriate actions to enhance fleet performance.
- Champion a customer-centric approach to last mile delivery, striving to exceed customer expectations through timely and accurate deliveries, proactive communication, and resolution of delivery-related issues.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to ensure seamless coordination and execution of last mile delivery activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to last mile delivery operations, including vehicle safety regulations, driver licensing, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to fleet management, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Regularly review and update policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization within the last mile delivery network, and lead initiatives to implement changes and drive results Cost Control
- Monitor and control the cost of the fleet in line with the distribution manager , including fuel expenses, maintenance and repairs, insurance, and other operational costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to minimize expenses without compromising service quality Administration and Reporting.
- Ensure the availability of administration systems for fleet planning, including tools for scheduling, tracking, and reporting on fleet capacity and performance.
- Maintain accurate records and generate timely reports on fleet operations, performance metrics, and key performance indicators.
