Description:
As the Indirect Tax Manager for the Swo Group, you act as the expert for all indirect tax (VAT, sales tax, customs) related matters. You provide indirect tax support & advice to all Group subsidiaries as well as ensure overall VAT and sales tax compliance.
- Lead the Indirect Tax practice for the SWO group
- Ensure the compliance for VAT and sales taxes in the SWO Group in coordination with our Financial Shared Service Centers, Local Finance and Local Tax personnel, external providers and the Group Tax team
- Train and provide indirect tax support & advice to Local Finance, Sales and Operations, and Financial Shared service centers.
- Partnering with our Sales and Operations teams on complex customer deals
- Monitor and manage indirect tax risks. Identify risk areas and proactively manage the issues to mitigate issues identified.
- Management of tax audits and disputes.
- Actively work to document and standardize indirect tax processes, policies and practice manuals. Coordinate necessary changes in the ERP system.
- Perform VAT reviews of selected group companies
- Monitor legislative changes for the relevant territories, understand, manage and communicate the impact of changes to interested stakeholders. Proactively manage any changes required as a result of legislative changes.
- Support on international projects (restructuring and tax optimization, cross-border transactions, supply chain management, process consulting (ERP implementations), data analytics etc.)
What We Need To See From You
- University degree in Business Administration/ Economics/ Finance or Law. Proven record of specialization in indirect taxation (VAT, customs and excise);
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience in the tax department of another multinational group or international accounting practice (Big 4 background advantageous though not essential).
- Strong experience in cross-border international VAT and sales tax and dealing with Indirect tax issues for multiple countries
- Demonstrable ability to prioritise and ensure accurate and timely delivery of work
- Self-starter, proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to work independently, foreseeing projects and deliverables from start to finish
- Team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
- Being fluent in English, or any other European language is an asset
