Description:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for the e3icient management, maintenance, and
operation of the company's fleet of approximately 80-100 trucks (dry and temperature-
controlled). This role ensures the availability, reliability, and compliance of the fleet while
optimizing costs and supporting the company’s distribution operations. The Fleet Manager
plays a pivotal role in maintaining vehicle performance, minimizing downtime, and
ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Operations and Maintenance
• Oversee daily operations of the fleet to ensure optimal performance and minimal
disruptions.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all vehicles, including
preventive maintenance and servicing.
• Manage vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and
safety standards.
• Track vehicle conditions and recommend timely replacements or upgrades.
• Coordinate with external vendors for repairs, maintenance, and with procurement
team for sourcing of spare parts.
Cost Management
• Monitor and control fleet-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance, repairs,
and insurance.
• Optimize fuel consumption through driver training and support Distribution
manageer with route e3iciency improvements.
• Analyze operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement
corrective measures.
Fleet Compliance and Documentation
• Ensure that all vehicles are registered, insured, and compliant with national and
local regulations.
• Maintain accurate records for vehicle licenses, permits, maintenance history, and
driver certifications.
• Implement safety protocols and ensure vehicles meet safety inspection standards.
Technology and Reporting
• Utilize our Operations Management System’s Fleet Management modules to track
vehicle performance, fuel usage, and operational e3iciency.
• Prepare regular reports on fleet utilization, cost analysis, and maintenance
schedules.
• Recommend technological upgrades to improve fleet monitoring and operational
e3iciency.
Team Leadership and Training
• Supervise mechanics, drivers, and other fleet-related personnel.
• Conduct training sessions for drivers on safe driving practices, vehicle care, and fuel
e3iciency.
• Resolve driver concerns regarding vehicle performance and maintenance
schedules.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering,
or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet management within the logistics or
transportation sector.
• Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and technologies is a plus.
• Proficiency in maintenance scheduling and cost optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with KSA regulatory standards for vehicles and transportation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Valid driver’s license
