Major Responsibilities
- Reviews and implements project plans, standard engineering details and specifications for constructability and conformance to regulatory requirements and productivity improvement.
- Monitors and manages progress of the Lead Designer/Consultants Organization.
- Recommends and implements changes in design or construction methods.
- Sponsors and supports the automation development programs related to work execution.
- Reviews, designs , reports, proposals, value engineering studies or alternate technical concepts in accordance with Engineering Procedures and contribute to the design of the project facilities.
- Prepare essential contractual documents such as Scope of Work, Request for Proposal (RFP) and Information Report.
- Identify and implement sustainability requirement.
- Interface with clients and stakeholders to make presentations, define project layout requirements, and obtain contractual and statutory approvals.
- Develops Standard Work Process Procedures for quantity tracking and reporting. Works with Project Controls to implement a standard quantity reporting work process.
- Develops common guidelines and procedures for effective quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs.
- Establish/manage the overall engineering schedule, budget, work quality, client satisfaction and contribute leadership, experience, and expertise in the solution of difficult problems.
- Participate in engineering reviews including stage gate reviews, interdisciplinary design reviews and comments (IDR/IDC)
- Provide guidance and ensure engineering quality design and compliance with NEOM requirements, local design guidelines, local codes, international codes and international standards for independent engineering firms that are carrying out the detailed engineering design.
- Report progress, critical issues, and risk to EPM Directors.
- Assist in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and provide input for their performance evaluations.
- Conduct annual performance reviews.
Skills And Qualifications
- A recognized Bachelor’s/master’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, from an accredited college or university with a minimum experience of 20 years.
- Evidence of direct experience in managing and executing engineering aspects of a large project
- Broad knowledge of all phases of engineering, field activities, production techniques, building materials, and construction methods for development of various work areas as mentioned in position summary.
- Understands technical issues and cost related to selection of design features and unique engineering design requirements.
- Broad knowledge of building industry regulatory standards and environmental compliance laws & requirements.
- Experienced with the practices and procedures as well as International Design Codes, Standards and software.
- Has experience with engineering work planning, scheduling, and cost estimating.
- Experienced with managing knowledge of sustainability and its integration into the design and the construction of various buildings.
- Relevant experience in the KSA and MENA region and a sound understanding of the cultural norms and requirements of the region.
- Skilled in oral and written communication and has presentation skills.
- Ability to solve problems by thinking laterally and be able to understand the needs and requirements of the client, entities and their EPMO’s – in order to provide planning / design / feasibility solutions in a multi -disciplinary / multi - sectional context.
- Must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and manage ambitious multi-cultural relationships across a range of entities.
