Your Mission:
As a Video Editor at HIYP, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our digital narratives to life, transforming ideas into visual masterpieces. Your responsibilities will include:
- Video Editing: Creates and edits, and delivers high-quality video, image, pictorial and archive content.
- Narrative Development: Create captivating and engaging video content that resonates with diverse international audiences.
- Trend Monitoring: Monitor global social media trends, news outlets, and viral media agencies to stay updated on the latest developments and identify opportunities for content creation. Transforms social media trends, as well as cultural, political, and economic trends into compelling narratives that resonate with the HIYP’s clients’ target audience.
- Idea Pitching: Generate and pitch ideas for feature stories.
- Social Media Management: Edit videos to match brand guidelines and optimize for platforms. Write engaging captions with SEO principles and trending hashtags. Stay updated on social media trends and best practices for an innovative presence.
- Use of AI: Utilizes AI technology in creating and editing videos, images, and other content types.
- Script Production: Collaborate with the wider team to produce high-quality shooting scripts that effectively capture each story.
- Industry Research: Stay updated on global social media trends, news, and media landscape to inform content strategies and identify opportunities for innovation.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Film, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a digital editor, video editor or social media manager or a similar role in media production or viral media agency.
- Exceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling, engaging, and unique narratives.
- Strong understanding of the cultural and social trends across the globe.
- Excessive knowledge or personal interest in pop culture, music, film industry, gaming.
- Excellent research, fact-checking, and rights management skills.
- Strong editing skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Exceptional writing skills and knowledge of SEO principles.
- Robust communication and networking capabilities.
