Job Description:
The Cost Manager is responsible for establishing and implementing robust cost management processes and infrastructure to facilitate project delivery. Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the Integrated Project Budget, integrating cost and schedule management, executing cost risk analysis, and maintaining project budgets, estimates, and forecasts.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop the Cost Management function.
- Manage and report against approved annual budget, including DNEC contracts, soft & people costs, change management, forecasting, trending, and funding drawdown/expenditure.
- Support reporting/update against overall lifecycle & 5-year budget, including owner's scope estimates and financing costs.
- Support annual budget preparation/approval process.
- Support the development, digitalization, and deployment of IMS processes.
- Support the deployment and implementation of digital cost management tools such as Unifier.
- Accountable for performance management of the cost management team, ensuring required capabilities, skills, and capacity.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the cost management team, integrate with other project controls functions, and manage relationships with project delivery team and stakeholders.
- Establish and manage cost performance KPIs to support project performance management.
- Work closely with all teams to implement cost management processes effectively.
- Provide alerts and analysis to the Project Director in case of variance to plan to support the decision process.
- Develop the skills of the cost management team.
Person Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in engineering.
- Extensive experience in the industrial sector, including significant experience (minimum 5 years) as a Cost Manager leading the cost function.
- Proficiency in Cost Management tools & software.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Initiative, result-oriented mindset, and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with multinational teams and respect local cultures.
