Description:
Operate and monitor ammonia-based refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and controls.
- Monitor and adjust system parameters, such as pressure, temperature, and flow rates, to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on the cooling plant equipment to identify and address potential issues or maintenance needs.
- Perform regular checks and tests on ammonia refrigerant levels, oil levels, and system components to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Respond to alarms, malfunctions, and emergency situations promptly, troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, equipment readings, and safety inspections.
- Follow established operating procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements related to ammoni REgeration systems.
- Coordinate with maintenance technicians to schedule and perform repairs, replacements, and upgrades to cooling plant equipment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for the safe handling, storage, and disposal of ammonia refrigerant.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary equipment, spare parts, and supplies for the cooling plant.
Requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in refrigeration systems is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Ammonia Cooling Plant Operator or similar role, with a strong background in operating
and maintaining ammonia-based refrigeration systems.
- In-depth knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, including components, controls, and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with industrial refrigeration equipment, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and pumps.
- strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration principle.
- Critical Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to ammonia refrigeration, including emergency response and leak detection.
