What will I be doing

• Provide strategic advice and technical expertise to clients on sustainability and energy-related matters, including sustainable design, energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and low-carbon strategies.
• Conduct comprehensive sustainability assessments and audits, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending tailored solutions to optimise environmental performance.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate sustainable design principles throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptualisation and planning to construction and operation.
• Evaluate energy consumption, carbon emissions, and environmental impact, and propose strategies to optimise performance.
• Support the development of sustainability frameworks, rating systems, and certification processes, ensuring projects comply with relevant standards and regulations.
• Conduct research and analysis of emerging sustainability trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply findings to project designs and recommendations.
• Engage and collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to foster a shared vision of sustainability and promote awareness of sustainable design principles.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and workshops to communicate project objectives, progress, and outcomes to clients and project stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, policy changes, and emerging sustainability requirements, providing guidance and thought leadership to internal teams and clients.

What do I need to be successful

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Sustainability and Energy Consultant or a similar role, preferably within a consultancy or advisory firm.
• In-depth knowledge of sustainability principles, energy management, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable building design.
• Familiarity with sustainability rating systems and certification processes such as BREEAM, LEED, or WELL.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, innovative, and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
